I won tickets to The Number 23 premiere through KROQ. I got to walk on the red carpet & everything (granted, it was brief & against the wall, but I was on it, and there were celebs—including Jim Carrey—& paparazzi!!), and the film was much more awesome than I thought it’d be. Then after the movie, I stayed past the credits & when I looked down from the 2nd level, I saw him again. I was the only one there, and when he looked up, he actually said something along the lines of “who’s up there?” & gestured a brief greeting to me. After that, I went downstairs, and after waiting for a couple minutes, I got his autograph. The dialog was something like this:

me: “Would you mind signing my… um, email?” (the best thing I had was the email printout from KROQ)
JC: smiles, says nothing & signs
me: (while he signs) “BTW, I thought the film was awesome… very trippy.”
JC: graciously continues smiling & hands me the autograph

So that was it. Nothing too extraordinary happened, but it was cool to have met him!!

I met him at a CD signing at a Virgin Megastore in Hollywood (the one near Laurel Canyon) a couple years ago. I remember asking him something about whether anyone’d done anything crazy (like dressing up like a chicken or whatever) when meeting him. The answer was “no”, but he said I was the first to ask.
